Mark Cassell is Twyford Law Office’s newest Partner. He began at Twyford Law Office in 2016 after graduation from the University of Denver School of Law. He began as an associate attorney at the firm. He practices primarily in the areas of Divorce,  Family Law, and Criminal Defense.

Mark has successfully handled hundreds of family law and divorce cases. Mark is well known in the community as being a strong advocate for his clients and a tremendous trial lawyer. Mark believes in client-centered lawyering. He brings this view to all the cases he works on, creating a strong bond and relationship with each client. He believes that cases are a team effort between the firm and the client, where the client is the captain of the ship. He helps make sure each client is steered in the proper direction to obtain his/her goals. Mark is experienced in all areas of family law, including: negotiation, mediation, motions and trial.

Mark’s background in engineering and math allow him to excel in high asset and business valuation cases. He has extensive knowledge in those areas, and has successfully navigate high asset divorce matters for his client, both in negotiation and trial.

Mark has been recognized as one of the top attorneys in Spokane. Superlawyers identified him as one of its top attorneys, as a Rising Star. Before joining Twyford Law Office, Mark gained extensive criminal defense experience while working in the Denver, CO area. Mark worked for the University of Denver Criminal Defense Clinic for almost two years where he explored his passion for indigent defense. There he represented clients in county and municipal court, conducted legal research, and drafted constitutional motions on behalf of his clients. Mark continued his interest in criminal defense by working for the Colorado State Public Defender as a certified intern in the summer of 2015. In total, Mark gained extensive experience by handling over 100 cases and trying many jury trials.

Mark earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2016, where he graduated with Academic Distinction*. He graduated with the distinction of obtaining the highest grades in classes including Evidence, Evidence Practicum, and Family Law: The Divorce. Before earning his J.D., he graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and minor in Mathematics. He is admitted to the Washington State Bar as well as the local Spokane Bar.
